With smart phone manufacturing giants such as SAMSUNG, HTC and SONY taking a comprehensive lead over APPLE’s line – up of iphones, it begs the question whether or not Apple has been left behind from the wolf pack. With the remaining competition all releasing flagship smart phones which boast a behemoth of specifications and coupled with their continuously improving operating system, it is honestly time for APPLE to bring a game changer to the table that will determine the outcome of it’s survival in the next few months.
Apple’s current flagship smartphone, named the IPHONE 5, is not a solid match in terms of performance for the remaining competition. The other smartphones; though expensive, still provide much more performance and flexibility which automatically gives them the higher priority when making a smart phone purchasing decision. No doubt, Apple is feeling intense pressure from the other companies and earlier this month, some of that pressure must have been extinguished when they made its biggest announcements of the year.
From those announcements, the one stealing majority of the spotlight was incorporating a brand new feel to Apple’s new operating system; the IOS 7. Of course, iOS 7 won’t be the only big announcement that the company makes in 2013 as it likely has new hardware on the way including a new iPad, new iPad mini 2, and of course, a new iPhone thought to be called the iPhone 5S at the WDDC event. Let us look at new hardware and software features that the new phone will be equipped with.
Besides rolling in with the new IOS, let us focus on the dimensions of the phone first. Firstly, the casing of the phone will be going towards the cheaper, plastic iPhone, which will not only reduce the cost of the product and also makes it lighter to other devices. This might beg the question whether or not the newest addition to the Apple line up of smart phones will be robust enough should the owner unfortunately have a bad experience of causing the phone to drop or any other physical impact of that similar nature.
Every one knows the significance of the display size of a smartphone. Too small, and you will definitely have issues navigating through the phone’s contents. If it is too large, it will cause discomfort reaching from one end to the other when executing a task. Rumors have sprouted up that Apple’s upcoming flagship phone will have a screen size of 4.8 inches which will be a combination of a retina and IGZO display.
This means that the IGZO display which stands for Indium gallium zinc oxide, uses much smaller thin film transistors ( TFTs ) than traditional displays, significantly increasing the amount of light transmitted per pixel. It also uses up to 90 % less power when displaying still images, leading to significant energy savings over regular displays. This news would be greeted as a very welcoming one, especially for those who are extremely keen on conserving battery life.
One of the main components that determines of how fast the device is performing operations is the processor. With all the competitive smartphones not being armed with anything less than a quad – core processor to cater to the user’s smooth browsing and navigating experience, it is time that APPLE should also start incorporating a fast processor for its latest operating system. Though, the IOS is considered to be one of the smoothest operating systems out there, multi – tasking will require a blazing fast processor.
Apple is likely to debut its its next generation iPhone with an A7 Quad core chip. This processor would make nasty multi – tasking situations and experiences similar to a walk in the park but then again, only time will tell what Apple has rolled up in its sleeve for the masses.
Being equipped with a high quality camera is always beneficial for the user. With other competitors rolling out the market with high resolution cameras, along with other features that will help stabilize and further improve the quality of the pictures, it is time that Apple also starts to make plans to adding another weapon to its smart phone. Apple might be infusing a 13 mega pixel camera to the frame of the iphone.
Not only this, Apple just might install another camera, which will be facing the front part and will be a 5 – megapixel full HD iSight camera. Now, those are two features that you will just love to have on your smart phone now wouldn’t you.
WIRELESS CHARGING CAPABILITIES
In the modern era, where people get extremely busy and cramped up with work, it is time for flexibility to kick in and play its part in the upcoming age of technology. Apple is considering the demands of people and also due to the formidable competition that it is facing, it just might be introducing a wireless charger which will charge multiple devices at once. Now that is what you call flexibility.
The one thing that people would finally want to see from Apple is the option of removable storage just like in the other smartphones. Apple has taken a different approach and decides that the previous smartphones were not equipped with sufficient amount of storage and that when the phone is finally released, it should have a minimum of 128 GB of storage. In this way, people will not suffer from extensive build up and will have ample space available to stuff whatever they feel like.
Compared to the previous operating systems, IOS 7 offers a myriad of options to choose from. Not only that, it is also said to be fast and extremely simple to use. The authenticity of those words will be proven when an actual smart phone is released in the foreseeable future and then it will be said that it is fast and flexible to use.
The iPhone 5S 16 GB with a contract is likely to start from $ 199 while a non contract device to cost somewhere around $ 599. We will still have to see how much the smart phone with the largest amount of storage capacity costs. There will also be good news for people who have the intention of purchasing the iphone 5, because you can expect significant price reductions from the previous flagship phone after this one is released and that only means more possible sales for Apple.
The year 2013 is definitely looking to be an excited one and with the release of the new IOS, maybe things are looking bright and happening for Apple. Hopefully Tim Cook will finally able to prepare a meal for us that we will be able to properly fathom rather than just loathe about it. Now, all we have to do is to wait for next month to see about the phone’s final release.
